Dedicated to the memory of Maggie

Maggie is much loved and will be remembered as long as we who knew her remain.

Many people knew her as Maggie Narbeth (a previous married name that she kept for professional continuity reasons - "That's what everybody knows me as" - and quite rightly so).

She was a dedicated professional; a caring attentive mother; a supportive loving wife; an enthusiastic sports fan (though not football); a good friend to many and she loved a good party - dispensing her wisdom confidently after a few white wines.

Though she often hid from photographers, we have managed to pull together some representative images of some aspects of her life.

Please take a moment to add your thoughts and memories of her, keeping them fresh in our minds.

Thoughts

It was with great shock and sadness that we heard of Maggies death. We remember spending time with Maggie many years ago at Alistairs 40th birthday. A lady who enjoyed parties and a glass of wine! A fun and spirited lady who enjoyed talking and discussions many issues close to her heart. May she rest in peace.

I met Maggie in the 1990’s (good grief, so long ago) through Pat, and was never quite sure if she approved, or not, of me taking him off to the pub on a regular basis… I do know though that she loved her family, and that she did a job that most of us could not even begin to understand, let alone do with such devotion. Such a sudden and sad loss. I very much hope that she’s enjoying a glass of something nice, in a better place.

In 1984 I was a wet behind the ears 17 year old boy from Zimbabwe, my parents having just returned to Africa. I moved into a bed sit in the same house as Maggie who was welcoming and friendly with the most amazing hair. It wasn’t long before she’d become like a big sister, looking out for me, keeping me on my toes and fed! Her staple go to was the truly 80’s classic the Findus crispy pancake. Maggie introduced me to her brother and a best friend was found, a friendship that lasts to this day. I have many good memories from those days, the Maggie I knew and loved was a good person, who’d happily share her opinion with or without wine. My friend Maggie; a spirited, kind, giving and loving person who will be missed but never forgotten.
